Bet the Devil CD Packaging

Bet the Devil (BTD) is a local Baltimore area underground music act that falls into the metal/hardcore genre. The name of the band comes from Edgar Allan Poe’s “Never Bet the Devil Your Head”, and the lyrics deal with excerpts of Poe stories as well as current events. The band utilizes imagery of Poe, skulls, ravens, and various other scenes that compliment the style of music. As well, their logo is used in all materials to push their brand. Their debut CD release utilized the 1562 painting, “The Triumph of Death”, by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, along with images of Poe. In March of 2012, BTD had their live set at Baltimore Soundstage in Baltimore, Maryland recorded for a live CD release. Bet the Devil’s audience is generally (but not limited to) 16-50 year olds whom listen to heavier music, or follow local underground music acts. The general visual themes for this genre of music that “speak” to the fans, is the macabre and dark visuals—sometimes extreme.
